Blackface cleans

The first channel is a clean/light crunch oe meinenne, voiced like the famous blackface amps. Bright and hot, it’s really perfect for all kind of cleans, from jazz to blues, and even more modern styles. The 3-band tone stack is finely tuned to offer a great versatility, and the bright switch will accommodate a wide range of guitars. Perfect for clean arpeggios with a touch of delay in the effect loop, also capable of light-crunch bluesy sounds with the gain pushed, perfect with some spring style reverb.

Plexi crunches

The crunch channel is inspired by the famous plexi sounds, ranging from Jimmy to Angus. That canal is vintage sounding, slightly less aggressive than an original, and thus more versatile. No bright cap on this channel gives it a little warmer sound, perfect for using it as pedal platform too. That channel has is own gain, plus a 3-band tonestack and a dedicated volume, shared with the 3rd channel. The tonestack has been modded compared to an original plexi, to offer a wider range of controls, while keeping the unmistakable original plexi sound.

JCM leads

The last but not least channel is modeled after the sought after JCM circuits (the good ones!). It offers enough gain to cover the 80 hard style, but still sounds great at lower settings. It can sound hard but still keeps a lot of definition, and has a great bass response,  allowing powerful palm mutes. Perfect for solos or heavier riffs. That channel shares the same tonestack and dedicated volume as the crunch channel.

The dedicated drive volume affects the sound of these channels in an interesting way. At lower settings, the sound is warmer, and cleaner. But as you increase the volume, the sounds become wilder, more aggressive, with more gain. You can thus fine tune your drive sounds by balancing the master volume and the drive volume, offering a very wide palette of sounds.

Quiet play

The Dual has the special « ultralinear master volume » technology, designed to play at any level, even at very low level at night. That master volume is very progressive, and easy to set even at low level. There is no jump in level like with a typical master volume, and it remains progressive until the end of the course. The amp also has a 20w/2w for the most quiet conditions, with a slight frequency correction in 2w mode to compensate for the bright response of some speakers at low level.

No Bias System

Change your tubes yourself, at home, no equipment needed. Freely choose between 6L6 and EL34 power tubes, you can even mix a 6L6 and an EL34. Procedure is quick, easy, and without risk. This will save you hundreds in maintenance every year, and will allow you to test many tube brands and combinations.

Big tubes

Were other amps uses cheaper EL84 tubes to get 20w, all FX amplifiers uses big EL34 or 6L6 tubes, just like the big 100w stack amps. These big tubes give a more massive sound, with increased bass response, even a low level. BIG TUBES = BIG SOUND!

Smart connections

The head version (and reverse head) features two speaker outputs in parallel, along with a 4/8/16 ohms impedance selector. This allows a variety of possible connections, with one or two cabinets from various impedances.

The combo version offers exactly the same outputs, and the speaker is externally connected (cable included). This allows for multiple smart connections. You can use the internal speaker alone, internal speaker + external cabinet, one external cabinet only, two external cabinets. It also allows the use of an attenuator with internal speaker or external cabinet, and the use of a loadbox for silent recording. Finally you can also use the combo as a cabinet for an external amplifier (In that case, turn off the amplifier section of the combo!!!)

DC tube heating

Heating tubes with DC current is quiter than the usual AC wiring. It takes more time to wire, and it’s a little bit more expensive, but it’s really worth it. Your Fx amplifier is guaranteed to be as quiet as possible.
